At New Story, we understand that everyone has the same basic needs of human kindness, worth and compassion. Those needs are exceptionally high for teens and young adults who find themselves in need for emergency shelter care services.
The doors at New Story are always open for youth who have been battered, neglected and facing family and/or personal crisis. Our well trained staff is ready to listen and help support the individual by focusing on their strengths and their wellbeing. We believe in treating the total person while recognizing the role of the family and community in their success.
Emergency shelter care services are offered for teens and young adults between 13 and 21 years of age. These youth may lack stable home environments and have a need for shelter care placement. Our 24-hours-a-day staff is trained to work with youth who may have a history of oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, physical/self-injurious behaviors, sexual offending behaviors and violent offending behaviors.
The Emergency Shelter Care offers temporary housing for up to 90 days for youth that are in need of recovery based treatment interventions.
