BMEC: Celebrating Diversity in Education
Posted: November 12, 2024
At New Story Schools, we are deeply committed to supporting a diverse group of students and clients, each facing unique and complex challenges. To meet these needs, we know it takes more than just expertise—it takes creativity, empathy, and the collective contributions of a diverse workforce. This year, we are proud to continue advancing our diversity initiatives, both internally and externally.
One of the highlights of our diversity efforts this year was our sponsorship of the Black Men in Education Convening (BMEC) event in Philadelphia, PA. This powerful event, organized by The Center for Black Educator Development, is dedicated to recruiting, supporting, and retaining Black men in education—a crucial part of the movement to address inequities in our educational system.
BMEC serves as a catalyst for creating more diverse and inclusive classrooms that can drive positive academic and social outcomes for ALL students. By increasing the representation of Black male educators, we take important steps toward addressing disparities and building a more equitable future for future generations.
At New Story, we’re proud to be part of this transformative mission and excited to continue contributing to the ongoing work of revolutionizing education.
