Mental health
Mental health challenges in children and young adults continue to escalate. Notably, 80 percent of children with mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders do not receive the specialized care they require from mental health providers. New Story’s Mental Health program creates an environment where students and families feel comfortable seeking help without judgment or shame.
School leaders want to provide effective mental wellness support, something that is required by the U.S. Department of Education and desperately needed. However, few schools staff members have the training or tools to respond appropriately to the school mental health challenges they face.
Our Mental Health program takes place in our out of district schools. Additionally, Thrive Alliance Group, a company in the New Story Network, provides mental health professionals to support students and staff in the public school setting. Our program addresses the mental wellbeing of students diagnosed with mental illness, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other emotional or social challenges.
We also offer a robust mental health focused professional development program including asynchronous online mental health training modules covering topics like suicide risk assessment, trauma informed care, anxiety, depression, and school refusal. In addition, educators can work with our team to develop in person and virtual professional development sessions customized to your needs.
